A detailed syllabus of the course will be available for you to study during your discussions with us. The following is a brief outline of the program. The approach to the course is practical at all stages and concentrates on the essential skills of the photographic craft.

From the introduction and history of image formation the course proceeds in carefully designed stages in both Colour and Black & White, to the final production of photographs tailored to client requirements. Commencing with 35mm cameras in the early part of the year there is a natural progression towards working with medium-format, large-format and digital cameras. Students are trained in the use of a wide range of equipment, both in the studio, the darkroom and the digital environment. Supervised practical sessions are conducted in Black & White and Colour darkroom work, including Cibachrome (Ilfochrome) and PHOTOSHOP. Lectures and student participation in studio photography are an important aspect of the course.
