Colour Level One
This course is the recommended starting point for both Digital & Film photography students who already have an adequate knowledge of their SLR camera.
In this course, students will receive tuition on the following topics:
- Advanced Exposure Techniques (measuring the dynamic range in a scene)
- Improving exposure with a Grey Card
- The Law of Reciprocity
- Understanding Histograms
- Metering Patterns
- Measuring reflected light and incident light.
- Working with hand held light meters (flash & ambient)
- Spot meters
- Window light Portraiture
- Maintaining correct perspective
- Using portable backdrops
- Using reflectors
- The Nature of Light with reference to : Direction, Quality & Colour of Light
- Filters for Colour Photography
- Colour Temperature & White Balance settings
- Colour Wheel
- Correct use of Flash in the following modes: Fully manual, Automatic,
TTL Auto, Dedicated
- Flash Guide Numbers
- Useful flash features
- Bounce flash
The program runs for eight consecutive weeks, with each class being two hours long. Course Fee is $370.00.
