Studio Lighting
Working in a photographic studio can be an exciting and fulfilling experience. The college’s studio is lavishly equipped with many studio flash units, soft boxes, strip lights, beauty dishes and photographic umbrellas. With this equipment, we will teach you how to produce professional results in Portraiture, Fashion, Glamour and Product Photography. Please note that this course is only for people who already understand the essential theory & practice of using their camera. It is suitable for both the Digital and Film SLR camera user.
It commences with instructions on the different types of flash and the various accessories and light shapers in use. Fill-in flash and guide number calculations are next on the agenda.
In the studio, participants will be shown the importance of changing the lighting style to suit the subjects face. Controlling contrast via the use of light ratios will also be explained. A fashion model will be provided for the students to photograph during a Studio session.

Selection of lighting styles to compliment the subjects face.

Achieving the following lighting styles: Short light, Broad light, Butterfly light, Rembrandt light and Split light

Low Key & High Key portraiture.
The course also provides instructions on lighting techniques for small product photography. A “hands on” lighting exercise using various products on a translucent light table is demonstrated.

Lighting using coloured gels

Correct use of a light tent
The program runs for six consecutive weeks, with each class being two hours long. Course Fee is $395.00.
