This course is designed to teach students the finer points of working with electronic flash in the studio. It commences with instructions on the different types of flash and the various accessories and light shapers in use. Fill-in flash and guide number calculations are next on the agenda.
In the studio, participants will be shown the importance of changing the lighting style to suit the subjects face. Controlling contrast via the use of light ratios will also be explained. A fashion model will be provided for the students to photograph.
The course also incorporates explanations of lighting techniques for small product photography. A hands on lighting exercise for product photography follows, using a translucent light table.
