As dusk descends on Brisbane, the city's lights put on a display of colour, mood, contrast and patterns. This presents many opportunities to create interesting colour images of the city at this special time of day.
Photographing at dusk enables us to take full advantage of the balance between ambient light and artificial light, to produce images with beautiful rich colours.
This workshop will increase your skills at night photography. It is suitable for both Digital and Film SLR camera users. You will learn about:
Calculating exposures at night
Bracketing
Experimenting with long exposures
Composition
Filters
Lenses
The workshop will commence with an illustrated lecture at the college at 3.30pm. We will then move in to the city to capture the dusk light. Once the daylight fades completely we will search for exciting artificial light scenes, patterns and textures arround the city of the Brisbane River. The workshop will end at around 7.00 pm.
A tripod is essential for this workshop, and a cable release is recommended. A fully manual SLR camera (film or digital) is required for this workshop. Film can be purchased from the college at very competitive prices.
