Figure Photography Workshop
This workshop is for students who have a serious interest in photographing the human form. The human body is a landscape of texture and continually changing contours. It is the skill of the photographer to know how to control the shape, pose, and mood of the final image with care and sensitivity. To achieve this, a photographer must understand how to take full advantage of the direction and quality of the light, amongst many other things.
Students will be able to observe the success that can be gained using very simple lighting principles. Participants will be encouraged to work in monochrome when photographing the model. The workshop is held at the College.
Topics covered in this workshop are:
-
Calculating Exposures
-
Lighting Styles for the Human Form
-
Posing Styles
-
Lens Selection
A manual SLR camera (film or digital) is required for this workshop, as well as a tripod and cable release.
